Frequently Asked Questions

How quickly can I get my order?

Assuming all of the required materials are on hand or quickly available, from the time you approve any tooling or specifications we typically will complete your order in 1 to 7 days.

Where are your products made?

All of Carrio Cabling’s products are manufactured at our 25,000-square-foot facility in Colorado Springs, Colorado.

Does Carrio Cabling make extruded wire and cable?

No. However, we do design raw cable and work with a number of suppliers who manufacture it for us. We design, tool, and build custom cable assemblies, connectors, and coil cords.

Do you make coil cords?

Yes. We build custom coil cords on site at our Colorado Springs facility. We do NOT purchase coil cords elsewhere and then re-sell them. We design and make our own.

How much does tooling cost?

In general, $500 to $5,000.

What are your terms?

Net 30. Upon approved credit, we offer prompt-pay discounts.

What are your expedite fees?

Carrio Cabling does not charge for expediting an order.

What are your overtime fees?

Carrio Cabling does not charge overtime fees for orders that can be fulfilled Monday through Saturday. We only charge overtime for orders that must be run on Sundays, which is rare.

Do you charge extra for custom colors?

Almost always the answer is no.

Do you charge for design services?

Generally no. We do our best work as a complete package of product design, development, and manufacturing.

Do you do rapid prototyping?

Yes. We have SLA (stereolithography) capabilities, which allow us to make objects on site in 1 to 2 days. In addition, we can build a single prototype of your product; the price for this prototyping varies widely, from $5 to $500, given the wide range of material costs.

Do you have a facility in China?

No.

Do you import assemblies from China, modify them, and then sell them under Carrio Cabling’s name?

Absolutely not.

Are any of the components you use made in China?

Material substitutions and modifications to specifications without notice are common in products built overseas, particularly those built in China. For this reason and other reasons, to the extent we are able to avoid using components made in China, we do. However, it is not possible in every instance to determine where a specific component is manufactured. For example, Molex manufactures connectors and terminals in various parts of the world; some of these are made in China.

How many days a week is Carrio Cabling open?

Our business office is open Monday through Friday, 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, Mountain Standard Time. Our manufacturing facility is typically open Monday through Saturday.

What type of CAD does Carrio Cabling use?

Solidworks. We use Mastercam for our milling machines.
